Which part of it? I mean, I understand why it's not a clean switch, but that doesn't mean that it's not unfortunate that it couldn't have been better.

I suppose under current technical constraints, I don't think I would complain, since it is a neat feature and there's no solution.
(Except to complain about the fade itself; if they couldn't just let the screen go nuts during the fade, I understand, but I would have much preferred a sharp, unfaded blackout. Fades cause a loss of focus on the scene and detract from the continuity; it makes the direct comparison more difficult.)

Can't agree with this at all. That's something that has an immediate, easy, and permanent fix. The long blackout is annoying and has no solution. Not a very good analogy, I think.
