I think that proves too much - the sentence says it will remain untouched in "its own matchmaking playlists." It seems to me to be a very reasonable interpretation to conclude that Reach's "own playlists" are everything not Anniversary, and now they are changing some of those, right? And the thing is, this concern is easily solved by someone just acknowledging that they are changing a prior statement. A promise made in a community update isn't a death pact; if the company feels it needs to move away from that it may in fact be okay, but confront that head-on. Say "I know we said this, but now we think we need to change that because of x, y, and z." I think there would be less problems that way - certainly less than if they try to argue wording. That always leads to tears.
