When you say Halo products, are you referring to the game? I'm talking more about the marketing, saying one thing and doing another, etc. I'm talking things like Bungie's ODST reveal, cut off practically right when it was set to be revealed because Microsoft decided it didn't want Bungie to do it right then (but of course couldn't tell them no until nearly right before the countdown was supposed to end). I'm talking that kind of garbage. I'm not saying Halo 4's going to automatically blow or anything (though its marketing and PR might be a total joke, but who knows). Take everything I just said above and add it to the other posts on how the Halo Encyclopedia was handled, or how everything seems to be "just good enough" when released and can always be "fixed" later if busted. Or take a look at Apt. 117. Can you believe that thing was actually a real thought, and did you see how vigorously 343 Industries attempted to defend it on this very forum? Glad that thing died. This doesn't discount how awesome things like Legends, the novels, or future Halo endeavors might be. But there are plenty of poor examples of Microsoft and 343 Industries doing things that aren't exactly praise-worthy (and in 343's case, since they haven't been around that long, that's clearly not being perceived as a good thing by many people including me). Luckily for me, I put more stock into their successes and vigorously bash the perceived failures so that they continue to have MORE successes later. I really, really want Halo 4 to rock.
