I'm not sure that I agree.
It certainly wouldn't necessarily be "monotonous" as Joony charged, as that seems to presume that human inconsistency in addition to game randomness would be eliminated, which is false (as that's kind of the point; if the player totally botches something, their loss is considered fair and reasonable).
And "randomness" means noise; competitive types usually allow some swing room for systematic adjustments such as weather which, even if they disadvantage some players, can be played against in a way that is still competitive within the new circumstances. That is, if you're at a track meet, warming up differently depending on whether it's warm or cold outside and performing differently under those circumstances is very different than having some random dude hop onto the track at random intervals during a race and punch a random runner in the face. One is a systematic adjustment that leaves a competitive if slightly different playing field, the other is a random error.
Oh, and it should be noted that many sports DO have strict limitations on how far conditions can swing around to be considered legitimate. If you think you're going to break some sprinting records by moving to Florida and flying on extreme backwind in the middle of a hurricane, prepare to have your records laughed off and thrown away by the IAAF.
All this is analogous to the difference between precision and accuracy, when using those terms in a strict, scientific sense.
