In Response To: MLG and Halo: Is this the end of the road? (RVideo) And they made some good points. Then they started talking about how Gears 3 competitive is played as-is, out of the box. But never seemed to make the connection that, dispite any woes regarding lack of competitive merit, maybe that's more what they should be doing with Reach? One of them mentioned how completely alien the MLG settings would be to the average Reach player, and yet they're going even MORE alien with their new settings. I don't get it. They talked about how some Gears players got on and badgered Epic pre-launch, but never seemed to remember that quite a few MLG players DID go and play Reach pre-launch, and liked it, like Urk said. What other Halo community had such exclusive access? So what more do they freaking want? Them Flamesword (the guy responsible for spamming 343i about ranks) got on there and I was just like, dude, have you forgotten the entire Arena system was created to try and fix the problems with Halo 3's system? Yeah it's not perfect but a lot of effort went into that and shows they they care, and to say bring 1-50 back or whatever betrays an appalling level of ignorance of the issues it had and an appalling level of selfishness while looking down from the top of the skill heap. So, whatever, I don't think I really care.
