I read about 360 CoD not being on the tournament list, but I didn't know it was sponsored by Sony.
Thing is, not living in NA, its almost as if MLG doesn't even exist. There are certainly no broadcasts and while they have been a couple of attempts, the concept of trying to turn gaming into a professional televised sport (which is the goal) hasn't shown a hint of catching on over here.
Overall, I guess I just don't really get what I can only describe as the 'professional' definition of casual gaming.
I wouldn't remotely call CoD any kind of casual game.
All I can really piece together is the thought of any kind of random factor, or luck, is discouraged and considered a 'casual' trait. That seems to be the main crux with the reticle bloom.
That seems a bit strange really, because those are some of the most important parts of any other sport. The sign of a truly skilled person in competition is usually one who can overcome those factors, even when they work against them.
A race car, a football, a rifle... none of these are going to produce the exact same result 100% of the time, with perfect reliability.
When I think about it... something that is re-producible, that is predictable...
That's typically what 'casual' people should prefer, as it is something they find easier to cope with.
Just some pondering.
