Thats the problem right there though; You bring up the ONE good call of duty game of the entire bunch. They have progressively gotten easier and dumber. The stores of MW2, Black Ops, and MW3 are so convoluted and stupid its hard not to laugh at the end. MW2 and 3 are ridiculously easy on veteran.
The point of a casual game is something that you don't have to invest any time into to become a decent player. I know people that the only reason they play games is because of how easy and accessible CoD is, people who buy one game per year and that game being CoD.

Still missing the point. H3 was entirely about that 1v1 skill factor, thats what made it such a good competition game. When 2 players go against each other who is truly the best with a battle rifle, who is the fastest and who can handle the pressure. Reticule bloom simply destroys that notion. (On a competitive level)
Oh well, I am not going to convince you otherwise, just take it from someone who understands the competitive environment that Reach is not suited for it. That isn't to say Reach is a bad game, it just wasn't designed for the hardcore gamer it was designed to be simpler and more accessible to newcomers to the franchise. That is not necessarily a bad thing however. I myself rarely play reach multi anymore because I do not get that same sense of enjoyment that I did from H2 or H3 multi. It is no longer a competition driven experience so as a result I don't play it much anymore. In the end though that is ok. I can wait a year to see if H4 will deliver better multi, in the meantime I have machinima to make (Incidentally Reach is also very bad for Machinima making, H3 was better for that as well...343 please make H4 less gray!)
