So as you know, I mentioned awhile back there was this script floating around Hollywood since 1990 that seemed to have possibly inspired the Marathon guys... I spoke with the writer yesterday, and he's resurrected this project for potential buyers, cleaned some characters and dialogue... ...but basically, it's otherwise the identical 1990 draft. And... Seems some fancy people are already sniffing around, including the A-List director of a recent film that did more than $300-million worldwide (who's currently shooting a $70-million+ film down the street from me), and a producer with a 3-picture deal at a studio. He met with the director yesterday, and now they're "talking". But words are just words. When it sells or is greenlit...that's all that matters. Talk is cheap. So...who knows? I did finish the old draft, and it's true: Unbelievable, colossal action. Like RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK on 5,000 espressos. It literally wore me out. Gonna cost someone a few dollars to make, though, if it ever goes anywhere. That alone may kill it before it walks. :: Beer Can :: | |
