I thought I made my views clear. Near the beginning of my entry into this thread I stated that I'll believe a Marathon movie exists when I'm sitting in a theater watching Demios orbiting the colony at Tau Ceti. Would you like a link to my original post?

A Marathon movie *should* be done. A Marathon movie _could_ be done, without making a steaming turd by losing the essential "Marathon-ness" of the story. The is nothing in this argument that hasn't been done before. It just takes talent, time & money all in the same place at the same time, working toward a shared goal.

If making a good movie was easy, then all movies would be good. The odds of actually pulling this idea off are worse than the biggest longshot at the racetrack.

The whole reason for bringing ratings & merchandising into this completely imaginary exercise at this point is to show how we can get funding. No Bucks, No Buck Rogers. Why do you think this line of argument is dangerous?
