The issue of the Flood is still unanswered...

Because there are two possible parallels to the Biblical flood. Is "the Flood" the flooding of the Earth by God? Or is it Satan's imitation/recreation of the holy flood? After all, the Gravemind seems to be very similar to the Flood. The Halos firing could be viewed as a Flood as well. The Ark is part of the Halo system, and the Ark in the Bible was used to wait out the elimination of evil and the subsiding of the water. But, I suppose, if the Ark in Halo 2 is the same, then the Ark's purpose is to wait for the subsiding of the Flood. So... what is the evil that is being eliminated by the flood? Are the Covenant and Humans evil, and by the Flood's victory galactic purification is achieved, or is it that with the elimination of the Flood as well as the non-evil sentients the galaxy would be purified?

This hurts my head. Is my logic tangled up, or is this that confusing?
