there is only one problem i see when reading all of these posts. Halo cost what, $70? not $700 (yes i'm aware the Xbox cost a whack of money, but i'll get to that in a moment). you people paid a typical amount of money for an atypical game. also, the Xbox is a very promising system with a lot of potential, give it time, there will be many games worth buying. don't be to quick to assume Halo is the best there'll be. the Super Nintendo made Final Fantasy 3 - a wonderful RPG, but dull in many aspects - then came along Chrono Trigger, which looked as if it was made on a completely different console! where i'm going with this is, Halo set the standards (albeit you all raised them too high) but someone else will come along and break those standards, like Chrono Trigger did.
am i making sense to anyone? it took me some time to write this down in a way where it didn't seem i was judging anyone - or at least harshly.
i haven't even played Halo yet. i'm not even going to bother with the Xbox; my computer does just fine (just gotta wait for the PC/MAC version).
oh...what if Bungie released Halo originally on the PC? now wouldn't that piss a lot of people off, having to spend $2000 or so for a PC to handle the load. hehehe
also, i'll put my e-mail below so you can contact me (i dunno if it'll show up; i typed it in the "subject" bar). i have one question... is there even a guesstimate as to when the PC/MAC version will be out? i read a post and he/she said a year... now c'mon! if that's uninformed, please inform me. thanks.
