In Response To: How to Keep Loyal Fans Happy (Anonymous Rex) Hold your horses, pardner. I thought your first rant was well-said and solid. This, I'm sorry to say, is not. The suggestions to fans are ridiculous (Badmouth Bungie? Set up Bungie sucks sites? How in the blue hell is that going to get them to listen to you?), the suggestions to Bungie are ridiculous (give you free games? Hundreds of dollars? Get real.), and the statement that you speak for anybody here with such suggestions is wishful to say the least. I personally am disappointed Bungie's dreams for Halo were not fully realized to the original extent they wanted, but let's be serious about this. None of what you said is going to amount to a hill of beans. Bungie did not release a bad game. They released a very good game, and a real eye-opener is the fact that while those of us who saw it at Macworld and instantly thought it to be the dethroner of Unreal and Tribes for the next 3 iterations of said games have some disappointment at what was left out, those among us who are just now seeing Halo for the first time in its current form are pretty damn impressed with what's there. The point of this is, if you don't like it, there's nothing wrong with that. Voice it, and voice it maturely. If you really don't like it, don't buy their games and voice it. But I think that's as far as you or anyone else needs to go. Suggesting badmouthing, setting up ___sucks websites, and thinking you deserve free stuff is the quickest way to have yourself totally discounted. -- Frost | |
