I was saying that it had little bearing on other fiction, especially stuff that already been written, like Halo 2. If you disagree, here are some questions: does Halo: The Flood carry as much impact or meaning to the overall story as the rest of the books? what about Cole Protocol? what about The Babysitter or The Duel or The Return? Do The Cole Protocol and The Return say anything about who the character of the Arbiter was in Halo 2 and 3? They may talk about Elites and the same character, but should they affect how you see those earlier stories?
