I was quoting Freud. But I didn't want to give the impression that I think any of his other points are valid. I'm not saying your arguments are Freudian, either. I'm saying "sometimes a cigar is just a cigar" is exactly the point I'm trying to make. And I really don't think it's platitudinal.
