I'm not too active on HBO, but I have hung around the general Halo community for quite a while. I've been an admin of Halopedia since 2005, and I used to moderate the Halo Movie Online forum. I've read a lot of speculation and am more familiar with the Halo fiction than the average person.

That was actual speculation I read during the wait between Halo 2 and Halo 3. I found it very compelling. The second part comes from Halo 3 and Human Weakness.

It's gendered violence, relevant for a feminist analysis.

Make a defiant comment with the snarky tone of "bet you can't stick it"? What I and a lot of users speculated was that she was evil. After absorbing the Core data in Halo: Combat Evolved, she gets unusually cocky and it seems like she could be evil by "Two Betrayals". For all we knew, this was a delayed reaction. When she says "alright, shoot", she gets a strong look in her eyes that could be an evil smile. She could have been plotting with the Gravemind or was planning to use him as a tool to take over the universe.

She as in me? 'Cause that did influence my analysis. If you read it (just to make sure we're on the same page, "Human Weakness" by Karen Traviss), you might rethink your analysis.
