In Response To: Six is. (Hawaiian Pig) What bothered me most about Noble Six was that she somehow managed to seem like a skeletal Rookie. And the Rookie was pretty damn skeletal already. Yet the Rookie was...congruent. You were new, like Noble Six, and you were helpless, and you were alone. Noble Six was new, and not alone, and not helpless - she was an established badass - and yet the story asked her to be...think think... ...sad, at Jorge's death, and determined, at the end, to make the sacrifice of all her squadmates worth it? This is what I can come up with in terms of her arc. In a way I don't think her history as a 'black ink badass' added to this. The Rookie, on the other hand, was frustrated and disappointed in himself, because he missed the action and let down his squad, and somehow I really connected with that better than Noble Six's blank-slate 'dangerous history' and 'hyper-lethal rating' tossed in to a situation that asked her to be increasingly helpless. I cared about my Six, but ironically, I think it was because she sounded like Mass Effect's FemShep, and I was projecting. Noble Six was very well-animated, though. Mostly. In a lot of cutscenes I couldn't tell if I was looking at her or another Spartan from some angles.
