At the very beginning of Uprising, when you come across the first Elite corpse, the Elite manages to say "The Brutes...have betrayed us...the Council..." That's a rather big key. Plus, I would think the Arbiter would recognize who the Elite corpses belong to at the very beginning of the level: none other than the Council members. As for the whole discrepancy deal between the levels Uprising and High Charity, all that's needed to understand this deal is a little thinking. Master Chief arrives (at the beginning of High Charity) just as the Phantoms launch. At this point in time (in terms of the storyline, and not in gameplay terms) the Arbiter is near the end of the level Uprising. At the end of Uprising, he sees the two Phantoms under Tartarus' command touch down at Delta Halo's control center. So here's the beef: Master Chief and the Arbiter begin their respective levels Gravemind and Uprising at the same time. Master Chief finishes the Gravemind level and begins High Charity (thus seeing the Phantoms lift off) as the Arbiter nears the end of Uprising. Arbiter reaches the end of Uprising; witnesses Tartarus' Phantoms reach control center. That's my take on it anyway. | |
