In Response To: HALO 2 Soundtrack...Incubus, Hoobastank...WTF? (Megalith) First off, one thing in Halo 1 that set it apart from other games, was the custom soundtrack. NO other game had music anywhere near Halo's, and it left an impression on people, that still exists today. Second, putting (non-original) music into a game is OK, but only if it fits the type of game it's being placed in. Breaking Benjamin would be ok, but...Hoobastank? The LAST thing I would want would be getting to a very dramatic part of a level, and all of the sudden "The Reason" starts playing. It'd be, in my opinion, MUCH better to simply put a few guitar riffs (from a heavier type of music, like Korn, Tool, and older bands) than vocals, as well, which would make Halo 2 seem more like a stereotypical videogame (in terms of music).
