In Response To: Re: HALO 2 Soundtrack...Incubus, Hoobastank...WTF? (Mothergoat) : Not...sure...what I think...about it. TalkingElmo is not amused by this. I don't want to jump to conclusions before anything is confirmed one way or another, but if this is true, I'm not going to be too pleased. :( It just smells like Microsoft marketing all over. Thankfully, Bungie seems to have enough class to not do stuff like this, but I can't say the same for Microsoft. Bungie is cool, but sometimes I fear that it's only a matter of time before they get assimilated into the MS culture. Having employee turnover doesn't help much either (with people leaving to go elsewhere, like Wideload). Sometimes I wonder if MS has more say in what Bungie does than we think... They know Halo 2 is going to be THE top game for their Xbox system. Does Microsoft have enough integrity to not sell out by filling up the soundtrack with this garbage? What's next? Cortana with huge, fake Pamela Anderson-sized boobs? The game is going to sell well enough as it is. I don't see why they would feel the need to boost sales to average Joe frat boy types by doing stuff like this, flattening the learning curve of the game, etc etc. Wasn't Marty just saying in a recent interview how he didn't think adding pop music to video game soundtracks was the way to go? That would really be weird if this rumor turns out to be true. Ugh. I just hope it's not true. |
