If you go back in time, kidnap yourself, and return to the future, there's *still* two of you, only now you're in a future where there have been none of you for however long you skipped over, and the copy of you is younger than the you who came back from the future.
If I went back in time 14 years, kidnapped my 10-year-old self from my childhood home, and then went back to the present and drove back to my present home, I'd find somebody else living there (because I never grew up and moved there), my ID would be invalid, and I'd be toting around a kidnapped 10 year old child that's been missing for 14 years and somehow hasn't aged at all.
All assuming multilinear time of course. In unilinear time the whole scenario would be impossible unless somehow I was predetermined to return my younger self to his own time frame; though in that case I would have already had memories of having been kidnapped by my future self when I was 10.
