If you're looking at movies and TV, then yes. (With a few precious exceptions.) However, if you take the time to open a book or two you might find some new ideas in the SF genre... if you know where to look. Some good ones have already been mentioned, but I haven't seen Neal Stephenson come up. Or Vernor Vinge. How about Greg Egan? Or Greg Bear? If you want to turn the clock back a bit, try Ellison or Asimov or Heinlein or Niven or Clarke or any number of Nebula award winners from the past 50 years. : Besides, I bought Halo for the game play and nothing more. Well, that's you and a couple million others. The rest of us are interested in the story. -- Steve knows he's atoning for taking a bad morning out on the board, but great Ghu WTF Sparky? |
