I dunno if subconsciously that's one of my issues : with it, but personally I just prefer the aesthetic that a larger : faceplate provides. One could also argue, "What about playing as an Elite? I love them, and they're not human!" Well, with that, we know that they're elites, and not humans -- not anything close to humans. The design of the Elites, from a group of human artists and perspectives, may have been designed to look desirable. We've also developed, at least some of us, feelings and an understanding of the Elite race. If some of these new Spartan IV helmets were actually not human, and were identified as alien, and had a backstory that we all knew and enjoyed, would we have different feelings for these helmets? I think it's fun to look into and debate on the whys of how we feel about these changes, going deeper than the "It doesn't look Halo!" argument.
