I was out shooting with a buddy recently and we were : discussing how nice it must be for video game characters to just stick two : half filled mags in their back pocket and pull out one of them full. For Spartans at least, it should be relatively simple: have a pouch or compartment or something that you empty your magazine into and holds spare rounds, and some machine at the bottom that tops off an attached magazine. Maybe you could make it so fast it could refill a magazine in under a second, so the user could just sort of tap the magazine to their torso, remove it, and put it back in. If you use something like a stripper clip instead of a magazine it could be even simpler, just have something like a specially-designed bandoleer and push rounds on or off. : Isn't it supposed to be an anti-aircraft gun? yep, it's designated as an LAAG : Anyway, the highly exposed gunner and passengers bugs me more. It's basically a jeep; what more protection is there, usually?
