I partially agree. I would like if everything made sense (and most of it does, hence the "sandbox" title halo keeps getting), but some of the more technical things like how shields react and guns shoot, I don't really care if they're base in reality, since most of them aren't. Halo is a fantasy universe, and I believe they have the ability to get away with a lot. If had an explanation for it I wouldn't mind, even if it's something as simple as, "that's how shields work in Halo".

I agree with all of this as well. I've never felt like I was surprised to die from the amount of damage I received, especially if it was from a gun. I've been a little confused when I miscalculated the range /damage of an explosion, but I felt that it came from my lack of experience of being blown up.

I felt one of the things Halo did really well was provide a bar to show how much damage you can take until you die, rather than using numbered stats or the irritating blood-red screen.
