In Response To: Purple and pink are long time Bungie game colors (Flynn J Taggart) : I just listened to your Covenant colors analysis and unless I missed : something (a possibility since I was tired (not a dig on your commentary, : it's just late)), you missed talking about Bungie's history with purple : and pink in their games. Namely the fact that the Covenant's use of purple : is more or less an expansion of a visual theme started by Bungie in : Marathon with the Pfhor (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9tAGN5zh98k). The : colors have been featured prominently in Bungie games since then also, for : example Oni with Konoko's (and kinda Shinatama's) hair : (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pudORWMspIA). There were even enemies in : earlier Bungie games who were pinkish/purplish. : So while Halo certainly furthered whatever subliminal purple and pink message
Thanks for the info. My only real knowledge of Marathon is via the marathon.bungie.org story page, which doesn't really go into what everything looks like. My knowledge of previous Bungie games is even more limited.
