I can agree with a lot of that. Hedge brought up a good point about marketing though, comparing H2/3 to the way Reach was marketed in competition to Black Ops. I also see MW2 and Black Ops with something like a million players each on top of Reach's 700k+. This doesn't even include competing RPGs or Assassin's Creed or many other games, and those number estimates for MW2 and Black Ops are only for the 360 as far as I know (they appear to show different things depending on which console you're playing on, and I wish I had a way to look these up online). 2007 was pretty much the ultra golden year of gaming and it brought us a ton of new franchises or completely revitalized older franchises into super empires. Yeah there are 55 million Xboxes now, but competition has become much thicker.

Also Microsoft seems far more concerned with things like Kinect and marketing that and the system as more of a home entertainment center than a Halo gaming machine (or a gaming machine at all). ESPN this, Netflix that, Kinect this, Minecraft that. All I got out of this year's E3 press conference was about an hour's worth of Kinect and 30 minutes worth of the actual games that sell millions and bring in the big bucks (many of which weren't even 360 exclusive). Part of me wonders how much of this actually has to do with exclusives not being what they used to be. Microsoft has done it to themselves, especially when many of these consoles aren't being purchased for hardcore gaming anymore from the looks of it.

Same. I think I'm on track to totally devour my H3 games played at this rate, though I definitely am not happy with the inclusion of even more bad (my opinion) community maps into nearly every playlist. And 343's title update has yet to be explained, but depending on what they alter in general, they could make or break the rest of the experience for me (an experience I currently feel is one of the best I've ever had in any game on any console ever). I understand that they want Halo to make more money and sell more, but going back to Master Chief hardly seems like the fix. I won't be surprised if Halo 4 continues whatever downward trend they see occurring (same goes for any PS3 exclusives, which also aren't doing so hot in such a thick market beyond maybe Little Big Planet 1 and 2).
