(DEEP NNN) : I have records starting in March where REACH exceeded Halo 3's population in : the same time period after launch on 3 separate days now. The first was a : Halo 3 low anomaly, the one I mentioned for June and of course Bungie Day. : REACH is currently running ~90,000 players/24hr fewer than Halo 3 in the : same time period after launch. Not at all bad in comparison. :) Again - remember that when Halo 3 launched, the worldwide installed base of Xbox 360s was below 15M. It's now above 55M. Having the same number of players as a game that came out when a quarter as many consoles were out in the wild isn't really impressive. (And to Avateur - I'm not trying to argue at all about the relative popularity of the front-running FPSs - there were plenty of other games on the market in 2007, and there are plenty of other games on the market now. I'm saying that in terms of attach rate, Reach is doing miserably compared to ALL of its predecessors (except perhaps ODST).) I am not for a MINUTE saying Reach is a failure, or that Spencer thinks it's a failure, or that Spencer even SAID it's a failure. (I think, actually, that he misspoke, and would love a chance to retract or rephrase his words.) I'm saying that it's not as successful, financially, as its predecessors, based on its POTENTIAL market at the time of release. That's all. That's a simple fact. Personally, I play Reach MUCH more than I've played ANY of its predecessors. My personal opinion here is irrelevant.
