In Response To: Upset with Halo2 gameplay? You're not alone. LINK (guy who doesn't post....too often) For me it comes down to the basic factor - entertainment. I'm not the world's greatest Halo Player, but I prefer Halo 1 on Legendary, and was even able to do a pretty reasonable speedrun. (Problem was there were some extraordinary speedruns already so I didn't bother submitting mine.) I've never competed in a Halo tournament and I know I'm nowhere near that calibre, but in my group of 25 or so friends who love Halo there are two of us that can never EVER be on the same team because it wouldn't be fair. I'm one of the two. So I'm ahead of the curve but I'm no god so call me a B+ player. A- on a REALLY good day. Last Saturday we had our first Halo 2 LAN party. We had 12 people and six Xboxes, so everyone got split screen and we could play the big levels easily. I have never had so much fun playing Halo. Period. I remember the weekend I started playing Halo 1. My younger brother in law and I played through co-op on normal and then we did a 2 vs 2 match with a couple guys who'd had the game for about 6 months. Blood gulch, team slayer, to 50 kills. We lost by 1. That was fun. The feeling I had where I had just started playing and I was at the skill level of more experienced players was awesome. My head was buzzing with Halo for weeks afterwards. I still remember that match. I still remember the excitement of finding a sniper position and getting my first killing spree. It's like a first love and it will always be with me. Last Saturday made that experience look boring. We had a two hour game of assault on Waterworks (first to three rounds wins the match) that was tied 2-2 for the last hour. You want intense strategy and teamwork? That was it. We played Swords on Lockout and the n00b got the only killtacular of the match. You should have seen the look on his face. That guy's gonna be buying an Xbox real soon. CTF on Headlong, wraith boarding, ghost boost, BLOWING SHIT UP, getting assasinated because you were staring at something pretty, DUAL FREAKING MAGNUMS! (I was running and gunning with dual mags and my teammate looks over at me and said, "That looked badass.") dropping a fusion core on an opponent's head, the list goes on. There are some things I didn't like in the single player campaign, *cough* boss battles *cough*, but I've still been playing it every night since I got it. Multiplayer is so much more fun that I can't even tell you. It's not just the first love I'll never forget, it's the deep, lasting love of the person you want to freaking marry. The only difference is that Halo 2 doesn't care if I go out with Halo 1 whenever I want to. Halo 1: Twinkie (mmmmm twinkie) Halo 2: Deep fat fried Twinkie with hot fudge and whipped cream. It's simple... Halo 2 is fun.
