How can anyone live up to expectations? When Halo first came out, what did people expect? I didn't expect anything, I had just bought my XBOX and Halo and DOA3 were the only games I had. What did I get, much, much more. Why do people set such high expectations, only to become bitter when things turn out differently? I did not expect anything for Halo 2, well as little as possible, and the game is wonderful. Okay, I did have an expectation. I expected to pick up the controller and own the game on legendary, that hasn't happened. So my only complaint for me is that I find the game too difficult at times, so I have issues with the game because I expected to kick ass and when I didn't, I got frustrated. If I only had remembered that I started Halo on normal and even easy at times, then moved up to heroic and legendary. All the hours I spent trying to get through the Library on legendary. Then I found shortcuts, ways to use my brains so I didn't have to fight every single enemy. Darn if yesterday I found my first shortcut on a level in Halo 2. Jumping on the tops of buildings I skipped a sniper filled section that took me literally hours to get through a few nights ago, the first time playing it on legendary. It's all coming back. Yes it is different. Like I loved the first Star Wars movie, then went to see Empire Strikes Back, hated the ending, thought the movie sucked because of that. Now I think the Empire Strikes Back might be the best of all the Star Wars movies. It has quality, story, and challenge. And I now think it has one of the best endings too. Then came the Return of the Jedi... oh please, swear by the Prophets of Wu that there will be NO Ewoks in Halo 3. I don't care how much the Teletubbies pay you guys to do it, don't sell out! But maybe Halo 2 isn't a sequel at all. What is Halo 2 if not a sequel? Maybe Halo was like "The Hobbit" and Halo 2 is the start of "Lord of the Rings." The Hobbit was a fun story with dangers and Bilbo had a magic ring, a magic sword "sting" and a mithril shirt. He was one bad dude hobbit. Master Chief had Cortana, pistol, and armor with shields. He was on bad dude reclaimer. Now things aren't so simple in Halo 2, like in LOTR. More characters to deal with in the story, not quite a fellowship, but perhaps in ways. Forces only in the background previously now play out their hands in some cosmic level war between ancient forces. Things have just started to get interesting. I've seen enough of the Master Ninja Tournament to know that whole new levels can be downloadable content. No story really ends anymore. Halo 2 ending wasn't an ending at all, just wait, we still have much to see. What about those battles on the moon? I suspect whole levels have been withheld from the release of Halo 2 to be added later. My only hope is that when downloadable content is available, that somehow it can be downloaded to PC to be burned on to CD or available on CD/DVD. I don't mind downloading levels on live, but sooner or later my harddrive will fill up, I don't want that to happen and then I have to choose what content to get rid of to make the room for more. I also have more than one XBOX, so if it is a pay per download, I don't mind paying multiple times, but only if it doesn't break the bank to do so. I'd rather get it on CD. Anyway, I guess that's all I have to say for now. Cheers.
