What I want in a rerelease | ||

In Response To: What we expect in MTA and M4 (Lion O Cyborg) This is my list of demands for a marathon trilogy anniversary releasse: 0. The hardware limits of the 90s are gone, so give us more enemy variety in levels. I don't know if adding more polygons is necessary, since we want to preserve the originals, but more could possibly be added for some more dynamic lights (and ONLY lighting effects, I'm not asking to change the architecture here.... except that area of accidental 5D space in Bob-B-Q) 1. Make a "director's cut" revitalizing all the dropped features such as hounds, alien civilian, armageddon beast, lost network packets, diseased pfhor, The Plans, Shotgun in Blaspheme Quarantine, The particle cannon or whatever the superweapon was, etc. 2. Make scenarios more editable by giving us the ability to add more collections in the shapes file. Being stuck with 5 texture collections (and thus 5 liquid, pattern buffer, and terminal types) is a drag. 3. Put the M1 sprites back into M2 and Infinity, and maybe add some more slave races to boot. 4. Bring back the M1 pfhor textures in the rest of the trilogy. Please. M2's pfhor textures are horrifying in a totally different and unwanted way. 5. Improve the engine so we don't have to build everything in the maps out of perfect, CONVEX polygons smooshed together and filled precicely and perfectly. Give us the ability to make concave polygons, please. Maybe even overlapping vertices but that may be kinda weird. 6. Make the cyborg controller pfhor more of a 'boss' in that it can be punched more than three times before it dies and can fight back. 7. If Marathon 4 will actually be a thing, DO NOT MAKE MARATHON 4 MODERN AND 3D! PLEEEEEEEEEEEZ! Make it a classic 2.5D fps with more features and make it pretty much like Eternal and/or Rubicon, except canon. NO MODERN CRAP.
