I believe that was the point.

His intention was to make a thread where people could voice their gratitude and support to Bungie — not where people could bicker over the same damn argument we've had umpteen times already.

Toward that end, he requested that people who DO agree with him post in applause of Bungie — and those who don't, that's fine (he didn't say "j00 must agreez wit me or j00 sux0rs!"), but as a politeness, please express that outside of the thread that he had intended to be acknowledgement.

Seems pretty straightforward. And of course, there's no way he could MAKE anybody do so — but again, it's just a matter of respect.

Not doing so, I think, is why he got seriously annoyed at you. Consider it... off-topic? Or maybe like going to a forum on "Why Computers Rock" and making comments on how much computers suck.
