Please, don't flame Gromit, flame me instead. I deserve it more, i think, and he does have a valid point.

I certainly appreciate the intention of your initial post: it's nice to do something nice.
It's just the one-sidedness of your initial post and my thinking that you had a couple of points that were just completely wrong that made me reply (in a somewhat rude way, perhaps) and add some of perspective to the picture.

When posting in a public forum, this must be expected. Per definitionem, *all* threads are for conversation. If you wanted undisturbed communication free of undesired opinions, you should have chosen a more appropriate medium for that purpose, such as eMail.

Um.. perhaps this is due to my being not a native speaker of the english language, but i'm unable to follow your logic in this paragraph. What do forum mechanisms have to do with that?
