All I know is, one wasn't : reached. That sort of thing usually comes down to licensing, and yeah, who knows exactly what the situation is between Bungie and MS in this particular regard. I think the most we've heard is that Bungie chose not to include such logos in Reach to avoid even a remote possibility of complications further down the road. What's interesting is that the version of Halo CE available from Games on Demand is, to my knowledge, unaltered. To put that into perspective, when Nintendo released Wave Race 64, the game was officially licensed with Kawasaki to feature their jet skies and logos, such as on in-game billboards. That licensing deal has since expired, so when the game was re-released on the Wii's virtual console, they did a texture swap and removed all references to Kawasaki. Billboards now display the Nintendo DS and Wii logos. They even slightly altered the designs of the jet skies to have less resemblance to the original Kawasaki models. That's pretty typical for how these things go, and there are other games that have been released on the XBLA that have since been removed because the licenses have expired. For example, Sega's Outrun Online Arcade will be removed from both the XBL Marketplace in December this year, as that is when their license with Ferrari expires. That's not really a problem for discs which were pressed and distributed while the license was valid, but it is apparently an issue when it comes to digital distribution.
