(Although when there's already a marine model made, and : you don't use it but use other models from the same game, it seems lazy or : worse.) According to the revised Halo Encyclopedia, its not a matter of a Marine model at the end of the game at all, just a specific armour set used by all branches. The encyclo refers to them as "Space-ready troopers", not specifically Marines. Here is the full passage: Space-ready Troopers, ubiquitous as they are in 26th-Centurary naval combat, bravely serve the UNSC in all of its branches. For most of these specialised soldiers, their core action occurs on or near UNSC captial ships and orbital platforms, but they are aggressively trained and outfitted for both exo-atmospheric and atmospheric combat. Point being that the troops at the end of PoA on Reach may or may not be Marines, it doesn't matter. They are simply equipped for heavy combat in and around a capital ship. Once having landed on Halo, there is no reason for any Marine to be wearing the full space combat uniform. As a side note, I wonder why "BDU" has become so popularised? BDU isn't really a universal term, its the name of a specific cross-service US uniform that has now mostly been replaced by newer uniforms, such as the ACU for the US Army and the USMC have replaced the BDU with the MCCUU. Its more correct referring to military uniforms in general as "Battledress", or even just "fatigues", whereas BDU is a specific kind of battledress. The funny thing about referring to "BDU" is that the whole point of that system was to have one uniform set across all services, so saying "Marine BDU" or "Army BDU" is a bit of a misnomer.
