To be clear, I am not accusing any particular entity of being daft so much as making a comment about the situation itself. Intellectual Property law is a horrendously messy business that goes well beyond what most people would consider ‘reasonable’. There are lots of things that the Halo community are permitted to do that a lot of other companies would interpret as intellectual property violations, but which are disregarded as the community is considered (overall) beneficial. This really ought to be one of those cases (at least, subjectively, in my opinion) as it diminishes the original product to have a major character noticeably redesigned just in order to preserve the sanctity of a pre-existing emblem. : In my worldview, "I wish the marathon logo was in the game" is : reasonable, but "you are stupid for not letting the marathon logo be : in the game" is imbecile. I have not made this contention. I'm not sure why you're passing comment as if I did.
