I'm also under the assumption : that canonically all the terminals do exist but Chief doesn't see any of : them. You know I was thinking, that last part is kind of true in a way. It's like the Chief DID see them, and DIDN'T at the same time, since they are purely optional (I think). It's the natural complications of canon involved with multiple-choice trees. So then it does make sense that if you have players who are not watching the terminals and have not seen Guilty Spark's recovery of humanity's history, you could then place that little nugget in the main narrative's dialogue somewhere else (like how it was originally ten years ago). Hope this makes sense.
