But why? : They show seven Halos even though it's a big huge shock to everyone in Halo 2 : that there are so many other Installations. Guilty Spark is giving : clearance and talking about all sorts of other things that would have : never been known or provided to the Master Chief or any humans until we : actually run into him, and then there are the flashes of human history : which just don't work for me considering the lines he states on The Maw in : regards to "a record of all of our lost time! Human history, is : it?" Granted it's not like he's actually seeing all the data on the : history, but the fact that he even managed to gather anything from it : right there is just bleh. This. I might be more willing to accept it if it was strictly meta, directed at the player, but it seems like they're making it in-universe. They're constantly saying it'll make sense but from what we've seen, especially this new one, I'm not optimistic. As for the content, like you said, what we see in the terminal completely kills the mysteries you're not supposed to learn until later. It's also internally inconsistent; why does 343GS warn the PoA about the ring's defensive systems and safe distance of one LY, while just completely ignoring the Covenant ships waiting on the far side of Threshold? If the ring had defenses like that and only accepted reclaimers, GS should've attacked them right away.
