In Response To: Re: Comic book rant. (Hedgemony) I'd much prefer to see the Halo comics fall in line with how the Mass Effect ones do. It would have been better to have had a comic on Noble Team before Reach, a comic about The Rookie before ODST, and on and on....direct tie-ins. Leviathan has the right idea about the type of comic we need as Halo fans. Not a story about characters that do not tie-in with the Haloverse. There are so many holes and gaps that could be expanded upon within the comic book medium it's not even funny. My comics are outside of the Halo fiction and they are poorer for it. Throwaway even. They add nothing to the Halo story or universe at all. I write "Halo Alternate" or "Earth 2" stories. That's fine for fan fiction....but for official canon, as I imagine the comics would be considered that, it's not good enough. I would prefer to see the Marvel comics try to bring in gamers rather than just appealing to comic book readers and hoping they go buy the games. -Hedge.
