If the last thirty pages of the book : are not entirely accurate, so what? Most of the rest of it is intact: : the training of the Spartans, first contact with the Covenant, Halsey's : machinations, the creation of Cortana and the melding of her with the : Chief . . . . It's not solely the retcons that bug me, I could live with those, but it's the fact 343i did nothing to correct the errors in the "definitive" reprint of TFoR. Yeah, they added a little short piece about "blackout orders" or whatever, but that's not going to fix the discrepancies. A working rewrite could be done, but it seems that no one with the power to do it is competent enough to do it.
