I enjoyed the split-story of Halo 2, : but enjoyed being Chief again in 3, where he was the main focus of the : plot again. Then I immensely enjoyed the atmosphere, more personal story : and better developed characters of ODST. : The thing I wanted/hoped/asked from Reach, other than the obviously improved : game engine, was an epic telling of the Fall of Reach I knew and : cherished... but we know how that went. Though I didn't quite felt H3 was that good. It lacked... something, narrative-wise. Reach was quite enjoyable to me, both story- and gameplay-wise. What totally bummed me in the first playthrough (e.g. Kat's sudden death, Emile's and Six's inability to down Scarabs and so on so forth) were gradually smoothed out in my subsequent playthroughs (and discussions here, granted). ODST is still my favorite game (I don't have Reach, so it isn't "mine" :P ), but H2's narrative is the best of the series IMO.
