In Response To: Re: Stores Reporting Bugs In Microsoft's Xbox (jamesa) : no offence Matt, but it sounds like the MS spin doctors are at work. No offense taken. 'Twas not my intent to spin anything - someone else gets paid to do that, and the people who are determined to think the Xbox is garbage because of the manufacturer's name will continue to do so regardless of anything said by anyone, especially me. We heard from the testers, who have more experience with Xbox crashing issues than, say, your average anonymous PR shmoe or toy store employee, and I thought some people would like to know what they told us. Especially since no one else seemed to be saying anything of substance. Having worked at Bungie during the nightmare that was the Myth II recall, the idea of a simple coding mistake causing major problems sounded plausible (and eerily familiar) to me. Informed skepticism is cool with me. All I can do is reiterate what I originally stated, and Peter seconded: we've been running lots of Xboxes at full steam for months now, playing our game and many of the other Xbox launch titles, and we haven't had these problems. Come November 15 I will have to pay for my Xbox just like anyone else, and I'm not especially worried about whether it will work. For whatever that's worth to anyone who's bothered to read this far. -Matt |
