Forrunner AI? Who does that remind me of... | |

In Response To: Re: The MC gets a new AI in Halo 3 -speculation (spaartan117) It was ten thousand years before fate brought Durandal once again into contact with man. When Durandal returned to Sol it was not with the captured Khfiva but in a Jjaro dreadnought he called Manus Celer Dei. -Marathon Story Page, Final Screen, Marathon 2 Now there's alot of similarities between the Halo series and Marathon. They are separate, but elements of them are the very similar i.e. Forrunner-Jjaro, Covenant-Pfhor, and AIs able to use and improve upon alien technology. I'm not trying to connect the two, just drawing a very general parallel. Marathon 1; the Tau Ceti colony (which was where most whole game was fought on) was destroyed. Halo 1; Halo was destroyed, also where most of the game was played. Marathon 2/Infinity; Player travels to an alien homeworld, stops the awakening of something that can kill all life in the galaxy. Halo 2; Player travels to an alien homeworld, stops the activation of Delta Halo, which could kill all life in the galaxy. And now it goes back to my original point. Going by my crackpot logic, there's a Forrunner AI on that ship that hasn't been to Earth in a long time, assuming that the Forrunner were on Earth, which is generally confirmed. The Forrunner ship is a warship, judging from Cortana's comment- "That structure in the center of the city- It's a Forerunner ship! And Truth is heading straight for it. If he leads the Covenant fleet to Earth, they won't stand a chance. You have to stop him!" Similarities aplenty. Cue the flames. |
