Basis doesn't necessarily have to eclipse Halo, does it? If Basis is technically above and forward from Threshold, and Halo is right in the middle and tilted...then as Basis passes "in front of" the star, most, if not all, of Halo would still be lit by the star based on the relative angle that the star is to Halo at all times. This being said, even on the far side of Threshold, Halo can still be hit by the light from the star due to its elevated position over Threshold. Just a theory. :)
