You're delusional. It is a fact that videogames : have told stories. I'm not delusional. A collection of rule interactions cannot tell a story, since they describe what can potentially happen, not what WILL happen. Do the rules of basketball tell a story? No. Do the rules of Mario tell a story? No. Can you have a story about a basketball game? Yes. Can you have a story about a game of mario? Yes. You've got to break from that to tell your story, which is why games give you story through other mediums.
