From my perspective, 'new' content (not referenced in existing material) isn't contradictory, nor is the existence of 'reports' which can easily be overturned as incorrect or ill-informed in the universe. Now, not saying Glasslands doesn't contradict (I have yet to finish the novel), but I don't think the "one point oh" class is strictly contradictory to canon itself. I mean, even going loosely, it could easily have been an experimental project that did get 'erased' from records and reported as never having happened to people in Halo lore. *shrug*
Now if an official encylopedia, an official record of universe facts, states that there was no 1.0 program whatsoever, then there'd be a contradiction, imo :)
Personally, I thought the idea of the 1.0's (and 1.1's) in ILB fiction was a nice touch. (still waiting for followup fiction on Jan and the others, hehe)
I really have to finish reading Glasslands... can't wait for Primordium.
