Well, technically, his K/D ratio was infinite before he decided to sacrifice himself. =) Or were you talking about Halo... If you were, I think the weakness in HP's arguments is that he focuses soley on the immediate encounter and choice in considering how to maximize K/D. There may be a greater risk to you now if you try to keep your teammate alive, but it may be worth it if there's danger of losing a power weapon or because the manpower disadvantage may be more deleterious to you down the road. And even considering only the immediate choice, you could certainly envision a situation in which you rushed someone who just picked up rockets in order to protect your two or three teammates who had their backs to him. That choice certainly won't maximize your K/D, but it will help your team.
