In Response To: Why arena ranking promotes selfish play (Cody Miller) You could argue that that one less teammate is one less person that can help you get your next kill/assist. Initially I had the same opinion that Arena promoted selfish play, but I believe the inclusion of assists into the rating equation maintains the importance of teamwork. When you lose a player on your team it gives the opposition an advantage in firepower, which means it takes more work for you to get kills/assists while they are dead.
