| On Quitting - Extreme Measures Required | |

In Response To: I'm not complaining. (Funkmon) : I also really like the ones where my entire team quits. That's fun for me, : for some reason. I understand, more targets to shoot, Rambo and all that. It is torture, however, for the members on the other team not wanting to quit, and thus being forced to kill a single player 100 times, or wait for the clock to run out. This is going to be one of the biggest challenges in Halo 3 Multiplayer: how do we punish those who quit, because quitters certainly are effective at punishing us? Penalty for quitting: I don't think it would be unreasonable to: 1. drop the player 5 ranks in ranked games for a single quit game, and/or, for example, 2. to not place them for x minutes (make them wait in the lobby for x minutes before setting up a new match) every time they want to join another match. After they have played x number of games without quitting, the wait penalty could be removed, though they would have to re-earn their rank. This will accomplish two things: 1. It will slow down some of the quitting, and give less access to quitter because he/she will be in "the penalty box", you know, 5 minutes for unsportsmanlike conduct, 2. for those who absolutely cannot play out the match, rather than just quitting out, they will leave their disembodied Spartan out there so that others can at least spawn kill the moron until the kill count is high enough to end the game. Hmm...let me know where the loopholes are in my thinking.
