In Response To: On Quitting - Extreme Measures Required (3Suns) First of all, in clarification and to DS's response, the reason I don't quit, but play out the rest of a game even when one team is grossly outnumbered, is because somewhere a long time ago, I read that Bungie (Microsoft XBL) monitors when we quit and at the very least, it goes towards some internal "reputation". I don't know if this is still true, or if it is just limited to Ranked games, but from the beginning, even when I have had good domestic reason to suddenly leave a game half-way through, I have not. Generally, I try to live by: Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Second, I simply offered an arbitrary number of 5 for Rank demotion. I don't know what the magic number would be. Now, having read the other posts in this thread, I am starting to think that the penalty process as regards rank, is already in place and is probably enough. Captain Spark went from a 32 to a 27 in four games. That is pretty convincing evidence that there is some penalty already in place. And yes, Cap'n, I think you should have stuck it out, and I am willing to bet that if you had, you wouldn't have dropped four ranks. So, that part of the system isn't broken, it just isn't advertised enough! If no one knows about it or understands it, how can anyone be... conditioned... heh heh heh. Oh, dinner bell is ringing, gotta go.
