In Response To: On Quitting - Extreme Measures Required (3Suns) I recently listened to one of KOXM's podcasts - Episode 49, a follow-up to
I have included the URL at the bottom. From 33:15 they turn to the issue of rep player zones. Family, underground, pro and recreation. One of the xbox secret police mentioned that your choice of zone does play a role in matchmaking algorithims. How much of role they don't say but I think there is a lot of potential here for reducing your chances of running into idlers, griefers, quiters and cheaters. Do you see where I am going with this? If an alogrithim was in place to separate those with a high quit ratio from the rest of us lawbiding Live players it would create the illusion for the quitter that he isn't being punished. But in reality we have this alogrithim milling machine removing the rice hulls or quitters from the grain, you know the good guys. We can use the rice hull gamertags as fertilizer to grow trees to populate scarce areas of the multiplayer maps haha. Look at them babies grow! Joking aside, this method, tweaked properly wouldn't eliminate the problem but might help curb it. Steve Christofferson
